Why Some Topics Bring in More Drama Compared to Others

Some topics attract drama where as other topics don't. Generally speaking, general discussion topics don't attract drama but the topics like race, religion, ethnicity, politics bring in more drama. What do you think some topics bring in more drama to a community compared to other topics?

There are a lot of drama in debate threads because people do not understand that others have different views. it even happens on Facebook and quite often I'll get abuse on Facebook if I have a different view.

Debates can get super heated, and often times people don't know how to properly debate without talking over the other person or resorting to slurs. I think other topics like train hopping can bring in drama, and the reason is because train hoppers like to keep certain things a secret but when outsiders say they want to get into the hobby then they encourage them not to and that can cause drama. Other subjects that already were mentioned like politics really bring in drama. People get bent out of shape when someone else lives a different way or has a different opinion on things, but certain topics shouldn't be up for debate.
