Do people really sign up to troll?

Do people really sign up on sites just to troll? Not just forums, but blogs, and social media too? I haven't met anyone in real life who would confess to doing that, so I wonder what that kind of person is like in real life.

I’ve done it. LOL.

Back when I was younger. But back then, I was a kid and it was fun. Yahoo Chat even had trolling rooms or fight rooms to do that in.

I’ve got banned a few times from forum way back in the day. But I never did anything too serious.

Oh, my! I never expected that from you LOL I don’t remember the Yahoo Chat trolling rooms. That must have been chaotic.

I was a teenager back then. I have grown up over the years haha. Now, I’m the type to boot out a troll before they can do much.

Sometimes it takes me some amount of time to recognize that a person is a troll. By then it could be too late.

That is probably often their tactic to stay on the community as long as they can without being banned.

I’ve had a few when I ran some forums.

Surprisingly I was part of a forum where one of the mods suddenly started doing this and we never really found out why (admin banned them shortly after).

Possibly. But it still seemed like it was them, just in troll mode.

Anyways they never reached out via other channels to say this was the case from what we were told.

I have done it lots years ago when Firetalk was a thing, get a room all fired up and leave LMAO.🤣

Trolling used to be more fun years ago. Now there’s no point as forums aren’t as popular as they used to be. It would take forever to get a reaction.
