Teenager drama with social media

When COVID was going strong, my daughter was in high school.

So, she was at home, on Snap and TickTock and other teenage girls were on it too, belittling each other and spreading rumors.

It got to the point where we threatened to make her delete her socials and told the parents of the bullying kids that we’d call the Sheriff’s Office because internet bullying is a crime. Those parents thought it wasn’t a big deal. Heck there are kids committing suicide over that stuff.

Anyone ever had to deal with that kind of drama?

Luckily, our girl is a good kid and stayed away and blocked people, but she also didn’t want us to constantly monitor her stuff which we were willing to do if forced.

That’s so sad!! I’m sorry she had to go through that. Bullying has really expanded even though we probably all faced it when we were in school too at some point.

I remember being bullied for my nose. Two girls I grew up with would laugh at me in halls and call out “point!”. My BFF found out that it was because my nose pointed upward. I thought it was something much worse than that and couldn’t believe it was something so small but made me feel so awful. After that, I didn’t care.

I’m glad your daughter got through it. Did those girls move onto someone else when they got bored of her?

Yeah. A few of them got pregnant before they graduated. They gave their parents gifts to take care of since they’re too young to do it themselves.
